(USED) EVH 5150 Iconic Series 4x12 Cabinet -160-Watt Guitar Speaker Cab

EVH 5150 Iconic Series 4x12 Cabinet – Used 160-Watt Guitar Speaker Cab – SKU

The four 12" Celestion speakers in this cabinet were custom designed for EVH and voiced specifically around the 5150 Iconic preamp circuit — which is why high-gain chords come through this cab tight and separated instead of turning into a wall of mush. It’s a straight-front, front-loaded 4x12 rated at 160 watts into 16 ohms, built from MDF with internal plywood baffling that keeps the low end firm rather than boomy.

This is a used example, so it comes in at less than the price of a new one. It’s a sensible pick if you’re running a 5150 Iconic head and want the cab it was designed around, or if you simply need a full-size 4x12 that handles a loud tube amp without complaint. Key Features

Custom EVH Celestion Speakers

Four 12" Celestion drivers built specifically for EVH and voiced for the 5150 preamp, so cleans stay clear and high gain stays articulate.

160 Watts at 16 Ohms

Enough headroom to sit under a loud tube head all night without the speakers running out of room.

MDF Build with Plywood Baffle

Internal plywood baffling stiffens the cabinet so low frequencies come across tight and controlled rather than loose.

Straight-Front Enclosure

A flat baffle throws sound straight down the room and lets you stack a head or a second cab squarely on top.

Recessed Steel Bar Handles

Two side-mounted steel bars sit flush with the cabinet, giving you a solid grip for two-person lifts with nothing to snag in a trailer.

Pop-Out Casters & 1/4" Input

Removable casters roll it to the stage and pop out for the set, and a single 1/4" speaker input keeps hookup simple.

How to Connect the Cabinet to Your Amp Head

  1. Power the head all the way off before you plug or unplug anything. Running a tube head with no speaker load attached can damage the output transformer.
  2. Set the head’s impedance selector to 16 ohms, or use its 16-ohm speaker output, to match the cabinet.
  3. Run a proper speaker cable from the head to the cabinet’s 1/4" input jack. An instrument cable looks identical but is not built to carry amplifier power and can fail loudly.
  4. Power up, let the tubes warm, then come off standby and bring the volume up from zero.

Care Tip: If a 4x12 ever starts buzzing at high volume, check the speaker mounting screws and the rear panel screws before you blame the drivers. Fasteners in an MDF cabinet can work loose over years of gigging and vibration, and snugging them by hand cures most rattles.
