How to Clean Your Saxophone
- After playing, remove the reed and mouthpiece, then pull the sax swab through the body to clear moisture from the bore.
- Pull the neck swab through the neck separately — it’s sized to fit that narrower section.
- Run the mouthpiece brush through the mouthpiece, then wipe the body down with the polishing cloth and clear dust with the duster brush.
- Apply a light coat of cork grease to the neck cork whenever it starts to feel dry or stiff before reassembling.
Care Tip: Swab the neck separately from the body. Trying to force the body swab through the narrower neck can jam it or push moisture the wrong way instead of pulling it out.
