Trumpet Care Kit - Player's Care Kit with Valve Oil & Slide Grease - MKHTRSS

Trumpet Care Kit – Player’s Care Kit with Valve Oil & Slide Grease – MKHTRSS

This trumpet care kit covers the two things that keep a horn playing well: fast valves and smooth slides. It includes valve oil, tuning slide grease, a trumpet cleaning snake, a mouthpiece brush, a valve brush, two water key corks, and a lacquer polishing cloth — plus a use & care pamphlet, a student practice record sheet, a pencil, and a case ID decal.

It’s built for a student player who's just picked up the trumpet, or anyone who wants one affordable kit that covers routine maintenance without buying each item separately. Sticky valves are the most common trumpet complaint, and this kit gives a player everything needed to prevent it.

Key Features

Valve Oil

Keeps the valves moving fast and quiet under the fingers instead of sticking.

Tuning Slide Grease

Lets the tuning slide move for intonation adjustments without binding up.

Trumpet Cleaning Snake

Clears built-up gunk out of the tubing so air moves freely and tone stays clean.

Mouthpiece Brush

Scrubs residue from inside the mouthpiece to keep response and tone consistent.

Valve Brush & Water Key Corks

A brush for cleaning valve casings, plus two spare corks for the water keys.

Polishing Cloth & Player Extras

A lacquer polishing cloth, plus a practice record sheet, pamphlet, pencil, and case ID decal.

How to Clean and Oil Your Trumpet

  1. Remove each valve and apply a few drops of valve oil before dropping it back into its casing, turning gently until it seats.
  2. Pull the slides and apply a thin coat of tuning slide grease before reseating them.
  3. Run the cleaning snake through the tubing periodically to clear out built-up residue, and use the mouthpiece brush on the mouthpiece.
  4. Wipe down the exterior with the lacquer polishing cloth to remove fingerprints and keep the finish looking sharp.

Care Tip: Oil the valves every day or two of regular playing, not just when they start sticking — by the time you notice drag, the felt and corks have already been under extra wear.
