How to Apply Rosin

  1. If the rosin cake is new, lightly score the surface to help it release onto the bow hair.
  2. Hold the rosin steady using the plastic channel for grip.
  3. Draw the bow across the rosin three to four times at the start of a playing session.
  4. Avoid over-applying, which can lead to a gritty sound and rosin buildup on the instrument.

Care Tip: A few swipes per session is plenty. Most players use far more rosin than they need, which just builds up residue on the strings and instrument body over time.
