How to Clean Your Bore and Leadpipe
- Remove the valves and slides, and fill a bathtub or basin with lukewarm water for a bath.
- Feed the brush gently through the leadpipe and each section of tubing, letting the flexible wire follow the bends.
- Work the brush back and forth a few times in each section to loosen built-up grime.
- Rinse the sections thoroughly and dry them before reassembling and oiling the valves.
Care Tip: If the leadpipe starts to smell musty, that's your cue to give the horn a full bath and brush-out, not just a quick swab — once a month is a good baseline for regular players.
