The H.W. Pad Saver is designed to fit into the bore of a clean, dry instrument, it wicks away residual moisture and keeps dust away from the pads. The alto sax model is designed to remain inside the body while it's in the case - protecting the pads from damage, sticking, warping and misalignment.
