HeadRush VX5 Vocal Effects Pedal – Antares Auto-Tune Pitch Correction & Harmony Pedal – VX5

The VX5 puts the actual Antares Auto-Tune algorithm under your foot — not an imitation of it. Dedicated Retune Speed and Humanize knobs take you from transparent pitch correction that nobody notices all the way to the hard-tuned sound that defines modern pop and hip-hop, and you can move between the two mid-set without a laptop anywhere near the stage.

It suits any singer who wants their live vocal to sit the way it does on the record: worship leaders, cover bands, solo acts running their own PA, and producers who want to track ideas quickly at home. Reverb, delay, chorus, compression and an Intelligent Harmony engine are all onboard, so one pedal handles the whole vocal chain between your microphone and the mixer.

Key Features

Genuine Antares Auto-Tune

The same industry-standard pitch correction engine used on countless records, running in real time on stage with no computer in the signal path.

Retune Speed & Humanize Knobs

Two dedicated controls let you shape the effect by feel — gentle correction on a ballad, full hard-tune on the next song, adjusted on the fly.

Intelligent Harmony Effect

Generates vocal harmonies from your chosen key and scale, or by listening to chords from a connected guitar or keyboard, so the parts follow the song.

Full Studio Effects Rack

Reverb, delay, chorus, compression and flavor effects finish the vocal, so you are not relying on the house mixer to make you sound polished.

Mic Preamp with Phantom Power

An XLR input with +48V phantom power handles condenser or dynamic mics, and the XLR line output includes a ground lift for quiet stages.

USB Interface & Preset Control

Records directly to a computer as a stereo 24-bit/48kHz interface, while USB-MIDI automates preset changes across 99 factory and up to 250 total presets.

How to Set Up and Dial In the VX5

  1. Plug your microphone into the XLR input and switch on +48V phantom power if you are using a condenser mic. Leave it off for a standard dynamic stage mic.
  2. Run the XLR line output to your mixer or PA. If you hear hum, engage the ground lift switch before you start chasing other cables.
  3. Scroll the factory presets with the footswitches and pick one close to the sound you want, then set the key and scale for the song — or let a connected guitar or keyboard feed the harmony engine its chords.
  4. Set Retune Speed slow for natural correction or fast for the hard-tuned effect, adjust Humanize to taste, and store the result as your own preset. Use Talk Mode to drop all effects when you speak between songs.

Care Tip: Switch phantom power off and mute your channel before you plug or unplug a microphone. Hot-swapping a mic with +48V engaged sends a loud thump through the PA and puts needless strain on the preamp and your speakers.
