Vic Firth Corpsmaster Tenor Mallets - Silver Extra-Heavy Aluminum Shaft - MT1AS

Vic Firth Corpsmaster Tenor Mallets – Silver Extra-Heavy Aluminum Shaft – MT1AS

The Vic Firth MT1AS Corpsmaster pairs a curved nylon head with an extra–heavy gauge aluminum shaft, built for the ultra–staccato attack multi–tenor players need to cut through a full drumline. The heavier shaft adds power and durability over the standard aluminum model, and textured “anti–buzz” rubber grips cut down on vibration in the hand.

These are built for tenor drummers who want a harder–hitting, more durable mallet without giving up the crisp articulation nylon heads are known for. The extra weight adds projection on accents and rim shots while staying controllable through fast passages.

Key Features

Extra-Heavy Gauge Shaft

Adds power and durability over the standard aluminum shaft.

Curved Nylon Head

Delivers an ultra-staccato attack built for multi-tenor playing.

Anti-Buzz Rubber Grips

Textured grip reduces vibration in the hand for a more comfortable hold.

Aluminum Construction

Offers fast response and long-term durability for daily rehearsal use.

Extra Hard Hardness

Keeps articulation sharp and defined across the full tenor line.

Sold as a Pair

Both mallets are matched for consistent weight, feel, and tone.

Care Tip: Nylon heads can chip with hard rim contact over time — check the head edges periodically and replace the pair if you notice flaking, since a chipped head changes the attack you're getting.
