Evans MX1 White Marching Bass Drum Head 26 inch - 1-Ply Drumhead - BD26MX1W
Evans MX1 White Marching Bass Drum Head 26 inch – 1-Ply Drumhead – BD26MX1W
A single ply of 10mil film gives the MX1 a bright, focused, full tone that carries in a marching bass line without going muddy. It ships with a set of felt damping arcs you can position and layer yourself, so you can dial in exactly how much articulation and low-end focus this 26″ drum contributes to the section.
This is a straightforward, standard-weight replacement head for a 26″ marching bass drum. If your section runs white heads and wants a head with built-in, adjustable damping instead of taping felt strips on by hand, this is the one.

Seats evenly on the bearing edge for consistent tone and easier tuning across the shell.
White Finish
Classic white look to match a traditional-style bass drum line.
Made in the USA
Designed, engineered, and manufactured at the Evans facility in the USA.
How to Position the Felt Damping Arcs
- Mount the head and bring it up to playing tension before adjusting damping, so you're hearing the true tone.
- Start with the felt arcs pulled back near the edge of the head for a brighter, more open sound.
- Slide the arcs toward the center in small increments to add control and focus the low end.
- Play a few strokes after each adjustment and stop once the attack sounds articulate without losing the drum's fullness.
Care Tip: Re-check the felt arc positions after the head settles in over the first few rehearsals — a fresh head's tone shifts slightly as it breaks in, so the damping that sounded right on day one may need a small tweak.
